This role is a mix of pre-sales activities, business analysis and requirements gathering activities within the technical & consulting teams at Esker – it involves a variety of activities based on Esker products and solutions, and provides a great opportunity to develop your technical, functional and business skills within a high-performance team.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Director, you will be responsible for delivering solution demonstrations, opportunity qualification, requirements gathering and technical conversations with new and existing customers. These activities will result in new contracts, projects and change orders with clients. As a result, the revenue generated will contribute to Company’s financial goals and objectives.

You will be working closely with a team of motivated professionals dedicated to delivering excellence and making a difference. Head Office is located in central Sydney with local team members attending in person at least 2 days per week and some team members working remotely in other states or around the world.
The Australian Team is a part of a highly collaborative global business with over 1000 employees spread across 14 locations throughout the world.
Your Profile
Key Tasks/ Duties
- Work closely with Esker Business Development Managers – as a subject matter expert –with pre-sales activities (technical/functional explanations of Esker solutions, technical/functional demos, etc)
- Prepare standard and customised Esker solution demonstrations to prospects (direct and indirect), including working with Esker partners
- Manage and prioritise your tasks based on priority to ensure satisfactory and on time completion
- Conduct and participate in remote/onsite workshops to gather Customer requirements
- Conduct full analysis of customer’s business processes and requirements and design the “To Be” solution with solution architect
- Detailed hand over to the Consulting team of requirements gathered from Customer
- Forming a bridge between the Customer and Consulting/CX team to ensure Customer expectations are clearly defined at start of the project/engagement
- Conduct and write report for Discovery sessions at customers
- Contribute, review, write relevant sections (eg. architecture, solutions scope, implementation plan, business process re-engineering, etc) of proposals
- Keeping internal stakeholders and sponsor up to date regarding all opportunities
- Escalate any critical issues to line manager or account manager
- Exercise excellence in Customer Service while communicating and liaising with clients
Competencies
- Proven experience in a presales or technical sales role.
- Strong understanding of the company’s products and solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Technical proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Essential Experience
- 5+ years – hands-on experience in software package implementations or systems configurations (either in a software company, system integrator or in house)
- 5+ years - experience required in defining and developing functional requirements and specifications
- 3+ years - experience with Process automation solutions, preferably in the Accounting space
Educational Requirements
- Degree level, or equivalent experience
